Mediterranean Day Charters
Private boat hire across the Mediterranean. Hidden coves, long lunches and full days on the water, with a local captain who knows where to go.
Your perfect day on the water
The best Mediterranean days rarely happen on schedule. They start with an early departure from a harbour you don't quite know yet, find their rhythm at a swim stop somewhere between two towns and end later than planned at a table close enough to the water that you can hear it.
Ahoy Days makes this easy. Private day charters and half-day boat hire are instantly bookable across the Mediterranean — Italy, the French Riviera and new destinations added regularly. Every charter is private and captained, and every captain is a local who knows the hidden coves, the beach clubs worth stopping at and the anchorages most visitors never find.
No calls. No waiting. Book online and pick up the details directly with your skipper.
What is a day charter?
A day charter is a private, captained boat hired for the day — or part of it. It's the most flexible way to explore the Mediterranean coast. There's no fixed itinerary, no shared boat, no strangers. It's your group, your pace and a captain who can adjust the route as the day unfolds.
Day charters can be built around almost anything:
• Half-day or full-day hire
• Swim stops and snorkelling
• Lunch at a waterfront restaurant, reached by sea
• Beach club visits
• Coastal exploration and island hopping
• Private events on the water
Most guests start with a rough idea of where they'd like to go and let the captain fill in the gaps.

Common questions
What's the difference between a half-day and full-day charter?
A half-day charter typically runs 3–4 hours and suits a focused experience — a coastal cruise, a swim stop or a lunch run. A full-day charter (usually 6–8 hours) gives you enough time to island hop, reach destinations further along the coast or simply spend the whole day at sea without rushing.
What's included in the charter price?
The charter price covers the boat, the captain and fuel for standard routes. Extras like food, drinks, water toys and specific restaurant bookings are typically arranged separately. Your captain can advise and help organise before your trip.
How many people can come on a day charter?
It depends on the vessel. Ahoy Days has boats suited to couples and small groups through to larger parties. Filter by guest count when you search to see what's available for your group size.
Do I need any experience on boats?
None at all. Every Ahoy Days charter is captained by a professional skipper. You don't need sailing experience or a licence — just show up.
Can I customise the itinerary?
Yes, and that's the point. Once you've booked, you'll be in direct contact with your captain to plan the route. Come with ideas, or come with nothing and let them suggest. Most captains have a shortlist of spots they're quietly proud of.
How far in advance should I book?
Peak season (June–September) moves fast, particularly on the Amalfi Coast and in Capri. A week ahead is a reasonable minimum; two to three weeks gives you better choice of vessel and date. Last-minute availability does come up — check live availability for current options.
