Itineraries

The Amalfi Coast changes completely at sunset. Unlike full day charters, these trips are usually shorter, around two to three hours, making them perfect for pre dinner drinks, celebrations or a relaxed evening on the water after a beach day.

The crowds thin out, the water calms and the cliffs start glowing gold as the sun drops behind the coastline. Sunset cruises are less about structured itineraries and more about slowing the pace down completely.

Some routes work particularly well depending on where you're staying and the kind of evening you want.

Positano to Praiano

One of the simplest but most beautiful sunset routes.

Cruising slowly from Positano towards Praiano gives uninterrupted views back across the cliffs as the light changes throughout the evening. This route works particularly well for shorter two to three hour sunset charters.

Capri Sunset Loop

Late afternoon around Capri is one of the best times to experience the island.

The water becomes calmer, day boats begin leaving and the coastline feels much quieter. Cruising past the Faraglioni at sunset is easily one of the most beautiful boating experiences in Italy. Perfect with champagne onboard and a few final swimming stops before dusk.

Nerano & Li Galli

For guests already spending the day on the water, Nerano towards Li Galli creates a perfect sunset route back towards Positano.

The coastline feels peaceful in the evening and the islands catch incredible sunset light.

Sunset Stops Worth Knowing

Captains will usually adapt sunset positioning depending on weather and conditions but some of the best areas include the Li Galli Islands, Praiano coastline, Faraglioni Rocks, Green & Blue Grotto Tour, and open water between Capri and Positano.

Best Timing

For summer charters:

- Depart around 7pm

- Cruise through sunset

- Return around 9pm

The exact timing shifts slightly through July and August depending on sunset time and boat availability.

What to Bring

The best sunset charters are usually very simple. Soft beverages, towels and light snacks are included onboard most charters (check the inclusions upon booking).

If you would like alcoholic beverages onboard, these can be added to your charter in advance or you're welcome to bring your own. If you would like something more substantial, charcuterie boards and additional catering can be organised ahead of time.

A light jacket or shawl is recommended for later in the evening once the sun sets. Most importantly, bring a good attitude. The rest will fall into place.

Sometimes the shortest itineraries end up being the best ones.
