Itineraries

Positano to Capri is easily one of the most iconic boat routes in Italy.

The distance is perfect for a full day charter and the route combines everything people come to the Amalfi Coast for. Dramatic cliffs, hidden swimming spots, beach clubs, caves and long lunches by the water.

If you only do one boat day while visiting the Amalfi Coast, this is usually the one to choose.

Best Departure Time

Depart Positano around 11am.

This timing avoids the early morning rush around the port while still giving enough time to properly explore Capri without feeling rushed.

First Stop: Li Galli Islands

The Li Galli Islands are the perfect first stop after leaving Positano.

The water here is calm, incredibly clear and ideal for swimming before continuing towards Capri. Most captains will anchor here briefly for swimming, drinks and photos.

Arriving in Capri

Cruising into Capri by boat is an experience in itself.

Most itineraries will include the Faraglioni Rocks, Marina Piccola, Blue Grotto, hidden caves around the island, and swimming beneath the cliffs.

Captains will usually adapt the route depending on weather and how busy the island is that day.

Best Lunch Stops

La Fontelina - The classic Capri lunch stop. Arrive by tender, swim beneath the Faraglioni and settle in for a long seafood lunch beneath the famous blue striped umbrellas.

Il Riccio - More elevated and polished with exceptional seafood and direct views over the water near the Blue Grotto.

Bagni Tiberio - More relaxed and local feeling than some of Capri's bigger names. Great for slower lunches and calmer afternoons.

Afternoon in Capri

After lunch, many guests either continue swimming around Capri, go shopping in town, spend time at a beach club like Lido del Faro, explore Marina Piccola, or cruise slowly back towards Positano with swim stops along the way.

The best days leave plenty of room for flexibility rather than trying to over schedule the itinerary.

Sunset Return to Positano

The cruise back to Positano at sunset is one of the highlights of the entire day.

The coastline becomes quieter, the cliffs glow in the evening light and the whole atmosphere shifts into a much calmer pace. Aperols on the back of the boat are highly recommended.
