Marina Grande
Sorrento's original fishing harbour, lined with colourful boats and waterfront trattorias. The most sheltered arrival point by tender, with a small pebble beach and easy access to the clifftop town above via the historic staircase.
Swimming
Bagni della Regina Giovanna
A natural sea pool set within the ruins of a Roman villa a few kilometres west of Sorrento, accessible only by boat. Crystal-clear water enclosed by ancient stonework - one of the most atmospheric swimming spots on the entire peninsula.

Il Buco
A Michelin-starred restaurant in a 15th-century wine cellar in the heart of Sorrento, celebrating the produce of Campania with exceptional craft. One of the finest dining rooms on the Amalfi Coast - reserve well ahead.
Anchorage
Marina di Puolo
A sheltered sandy bay just west of Sorrento with good holding for anchoring and a small fishing village at the water's edge. Far quieter than the main harbours, with beach restaurants serving the freshest catch of the day.
Swimming
Punta della Campanella
The dramatic westernmost tip of the Sorrento peninsula and a protected marine reserve with some of the clearest water on this stretch of coast. It marks the entrance to the Gulf of Naples and is outstanding for snorkelling and diving.

Suggested Itineraries
Sorrento to Capri Full Day
Depart Marina Piccola mid-morning, 30-minute crossing to Capri. Blue Grotto on arrival, the Faraglioni and a swim, lunch by tender. Return to Sorrento in the late afternoon.
Peninsula Circuit Half Day
West along the cliff base, past the tufa rock face below the old town, then round the tip of the peninsula to Marina di Puolo for a swim stop. Back in Sorrento by early afternoon.
Bagni della Regina Giovanna
Head west to the ancient Roman ruins at Bagni della Regina Giovanna for a unique swimming experience. Explore the natural pools and clear waters within the archaeological site.
Sunset Cruise
Evening cruise as the sun drops behind the Sorrento cliffs. Watch Vesuvius light up across the bay and return to harbour as the stars emerge.
