Praiano Day Charters
The clifftop village. Quiet coves. The stretch of coast most visitors drive straight past.
Our Ahoy Approved Guide
A clifftop village between Positano and the Furore gorge, quieter and less visited than its famous neighbours. Praiano's two coves - Marina di Praia and La Gavitella - are only accessible by boat or long staircase, which keeps them beautifully unspoiled.
Popular Spots
Highlights
The spots worth reaching that you can only get to by sea.
Anchorage
Marina di Praia
A tiny, dramatic cove tucked between towering cliffs just west of Positano - sheltered, intimate, with clear water lapping a small pebble beach. One of the most unspoiled anchorages on the entire Amalfi Coast.
Swimming
La Gavitella
Praiano's westward-facing beach is the finest sunset-watching spot on the Amalfi Coast. Crystal clear and calm throughout the day, ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Accessible only by sea or a long staircase - which means it's rarely crowded.
Dining
La Gavitella Restaurant
Perched on the cliff above the beach, this refined restaurant celebrates local seafood and Campanian produce. The signature dish - totani e patate alla praianese, squid and potato - is a Praiano classic. Book at sunset for views that will stay with you.
Dining
Il Pirata
Set directly at the water's edge in Marina di Praia, one of the most atmospheric restaurants on the Amalfi Coast. Tables sit right on the narrow beach, the catch is landed just metres away, and the menu changes daily with whatever the boats bring in.
Landmark
Torre di Grado
One of a series of Aragonese watchtowers built along this coastline in the 16th century to defend against Saracen raids. Torre di Grado stands above Marina di Praia, a striking landmark visible from the sea as you approach by boat.
Swimming
Cala di Praia
The secluded swimming cove at Marina di Praia, sheltered from all but the strongest winds and with exceptionally clear water. Moor the tender on the beach, swim in calm conditions, and walk directly into one of the waterfront restaurants for lunch.
